In February 2024, Dhamma Earth organized another sacred pilgrimage to India, bringing together over 130 monastics and lay devotees in a journey of faith, gratitude, and inner cultivation. Our path led us to the Four Great Places sanctified by the life of the Buddha:
Lumbinī – where the Bodhisatta was born,
Bodhgayā – where he awakened to Supreme Enlightenment,
Sarnath – where he expounded the first sutta,
and Kusinārā – where he entered Parinibbāna and passed away.
Gathered across generations and backgrounds, we walked mindfully where the Blessed One once walked, offering flowers, chanting with devotion, sitting in silent meditation, and strengthening our spiritual aspirations as a community.
“Ye cāvataṁ patirūpā, cetiyaṁ vandiyaṁ ahaṁ;
Tesaṁ vandanapūjāya, sadā hotu sukhī ahan.”
“Whatever shrines are worthy of veneration, I have honored them—
May I always be happy through acts of reverence.”
