Alms Round is the monastic practice of walking from house to house to collect alms while holding the alms bowl in hands. Monks on alms round are like walking fields of blessings. Many wise men understand the importance of supporting the monastic community to accumulate merits and provisions for the path to enlightenment and seize the opportunity to cultivate and sow seeds in the supreme fields of blessings. Through these good deeds, they can accumulate merits and also requisites of enlightenment, and plant seeds of happiness and joy for their future.

You can offer food, daily necessities, medicine or allowable requisite to Monastics. There are a few things that should be paid attention during offering:

  1. Monetary offerings are not accepted;
  2. Please refrain from touching the monastics;
  3. Offerings can include staple and non-staple foods, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian;
  4. It is recommended that anyone who wishes to cultivate the virtue of respect and humility may take off their shoes and kneel before offering.

If you are interested to be part of the volunteering members, you are welcomed to contact Sis Florence!
